Sunday morning was just too much- another round of joyous reunion with now dear friends, this brunch party was held at the beautiful home of Donna Wilson Seymour and her stalwart husband Larry, in Kenmore. The large and sunny solarium room, newly added at the back of Donna and Larry's house, was a perfect gathering place for us. Again, we sat on chairs, couches, pillows and floor, in living room, den, kitchen and solarium, for many hours.

Murphy's Law intervened, and cut the electricity to the house early in the brunch. No problem- Donna created a new ambiance by lighting candles everywhere, and we did have hot coffee later when the electricity returned. The caterer had delivered hot food, so we suffered no harm. God obviously blessed Donna with a calm demeanor. Sixty guests for brunch, and no electricity! For us, it just added to the fun.

Donna served wonderful breakfast wraps (eggs, with a salsa sauce, bacon- very good). And fresh fruit, deviled eggs, little meat pies, mushrooms? - hard to recall the variety. Baskets of croissants and rolls and pastries and such were overflowing. Platters of tea sandwiches followed, all preceded by mimosas and Bloody Mary's and juices abounding, all overseen by Larry at the black granite island in the kitchen. Later in the morning, Larry and the other five brave men in attendance finally had time to sit in the yard and chat without the women intervening. Several of the women gathered had a conversation about the fact that all divisions- of time, of status, of one major vs. another, of dayhops vs. residents- all separations disappeared by the time of this final party. Everyone chatted comfortably, joined by some new faces who had not been able to make the other gatherings.
